A full head of hair, at least 2 years of growth. becomes a single unit or a way of recognizing and identifying someone.
Separated out into individual tails. the smaller pieces of the larger system are harvested and spread through and out. they become their own individual piece in a new system or a new identity with the past still a part of them.
The rattails are added and subtracted, creating numerous possible new persona as they were harvested, erasing another.
